# Palmer Penguins Data Analysis Project

## Project Overview

I developed a Python data-analysis project to investigate which morphological measurements best distinguish three penguin species: **Adelie, Chinstrap, and Gentoo**.

The project uses the Palmer Penguins dataset, containing measurements collected at Palmer Station in Antarctica between 2007 and 2009.

## Skills Demonstrated

- **Python data analysis** using pandas and NumPy
- **Data cleaning** and missing-value inspection
- **Exploratory data analysis (EDA)**
- **Statistical summaries** with descriptive statistics
- **Data visualization** using Matplotlib and Seaborn
- **Categorical data analysis** by species, island, sex, and year
- **Clear analytical communication** through documented notebook findings
- **Jupyter Notebook** workflow and reproducible analysis

## Technical Implementation

- Loaded and inspected a CSV dataset with pandas
- Identified missing values and evaluated their impact
- Removed rows without usable measurement data while preserving relevant records
- Analyzed bill length, bill depth, flipper length, and body mass
- Created charts to compare species distributions and morphological characteristics
- Used customized colors and readable chart labels to communicate results effectively

## Key Analytical Question

> Which measurements best separate Adelie, Chinstrap, and Gentoo penguins?

The analysis focuses on comparing physical characteristics across species and using visual evidence to identify meaningful differences in the dataset.

## LinkedIn Description

> Completed a Python data-analysis project using the Palmer Penguins dataset. Cleaned and explored 344 records, handled missing values, calculated descriptive statistics, and created visualizations with pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, and Seaborn to investigate which morphological measurements distinguish Adelie, Chinstrap, and Gentoo penguins. The project demonstrates practical skills in data cleaning, exploratory analysis, visualization, and communicating data-driven insights.
